Assessing After-School Program Practices Tool (APT)

The Assessment of Afterschool Program Practices Tools (APT) is a measurement tool which focuses on assessing program practices for programs serving children from kindergarten through middle school. During this training, participants will review the APT assessment measure for out of school time educators including the APT-O (Observation) and APT-Q (Program Questioner). Activities will include learning about the tool, practice using the tool for assessment, and strategies for using the result for continuous program improvement.

The APT is one of the only assessment systems available that helps afterschool programs link quality and youth outcomes together in a comprehensive, flexible and integrated fashion.
